Declassification happens when a child has met all of his/her goals and is no longer considered a child with a disability in the school system. This brief informational document written in collaboration with SUPAC serves to explain what it means when a child is no longer qualifies for special education services and ease parent concerns by touching on some of the supports that may be available in the general education classroom their child is transitioning into at kindergarten.
