drawing of children holding hands in a circleMid-State Early Childhood Direction Center (ECDC) assists families and professionals in securing services that meet the needs of children with disabilities, birth through age five. We provide information and training about available service options and service delivery systems.

  • The Mid-State ECDC is responsible to:


    • Provide parents with an understanding of the preschool special education process.
    • Provide technical assistance to parents and professionals to facilitate timely evaluations and services for preschool children with disabilities
    • Improve the transition of children from early intervention (EI) to preschool special education (CPSE) and from preschool special education(CPSE) to school age special education services (CSE);
    • Promote research-based instructional programs to improve outcomes for preschool children with disabilities;and
    • Promote greater access of preschool children to integrated special education settings.
  • Services Offered:

    ECDC offers professional development and parent training on early childhood  transitions, early childhood development, behavior, inclusion,  the early intervention and preschool special education systems and much more.

    In addition, we provide technical assistance to parents, school districts, childcares, preschools, UPK, and Head Start programs to promote positive outcomes for young children.

    Our services are available, free of charge and confidentially, to all families, early childhood professionals and programs, school districts and community agencies in the following regions:
